Synopsis[]

After a fierce battle in the rain and fog, the 2nd MFG race, Lake Ashi GT, comes to a conclusion. Just before the finish line, Kanata, in his underpowered 86, shows no sign of backing down from Ferrari, and despite it being his second time competing, he attracts a lot of attention from fans. At the same time, with his brother's permission, Keisuke Takahashi decides to enter his own protégé. A new rival is about to enter the MFG race.

Plot[]

As Akaba closes in on Kanata in the last sector, Aiba makes a move on Sakamoto on the Relay straight. They go side by side into the next corner with Aiba going too fast and making contact with the R8, which frustrates Sakamoto. Meanwhile, in the battle for third Akaba caught up to Kanata, who is still able to prevent him from advancing forward. As that happens, Beckenbauer and Sawatari finish the race, with Kouki being upset and emotional about losing to Michael. Fans are upset about Michael winning and demand to see the battle between Katagiri and Akaba.

As #86 and #2 are approaching the finish line, Akaba prepares his final move to overtake Kanata under the Hakone pass bridge, but fails after Kanata goes into the corner faster. He quickly comes up with another plan, crossing Kanata's line on corner exit, which works. On the final stretch of the race, Akaba pulls in front of Kanata by merely 50cm and finishes third. As for the battle for for sixth, after going side by side for 4 turns, Yudai backs down, not risking to damage his car. All the pilots are crossing the finish line and the positions are as follows.

After the end of the race, Angels including Kyoko and Ren are chatting in preparation for the podium ceremony. Both of them are called to kiss the top-3 finishers, with Kaito requesting Kyoko and Sawatari asking for Number 7. This shocks Ren and she really hesitates to kiss Kouki during the ceremony. Seeing this, Shun becomes angry at Sawatari, while Mami hits on Kanata and gives him her socials. After the ceremony, Shun wants to talk to Kouki, asking him not to mess with Number 7. In return, Sawatari tells Shun, that he can tell she is around 17 years old, which leaves Aiba in disbelief. He later invites Ogata and Kanata to their traditional feast after the race.

At the T.K. Mach headquarters, Keisuke is making a call to Ryosuke, asking his permission to let one of his students, Sena Moroboshi, participate in the next round of MFG. Kenta eavesdrops their conversation is excited about the news, but wonders why he could not take part in MFG before. Keisuke explains that Ryosuke prohibited his students from racing in MFG until at least 2 pilots beat his demo run, since it would be too unfair. Later, Ren and Wakana meet up on a rainy day heading to school and talk about Kanata. While Ren's pals see him as a prince, she recalls his messy style at home. She later compares herself to Wakana, who has had 6 boyfriends since middle school while Ren didn't have any relationships yet.

Meanwhile, Kanata finishes his shift at work, noticing his love to Japanese customs at the end of the workday. He heads to a meeting with Okuyama and Ogata in his garage, where they are discussing the upgrades to the 86. Ogata suggests getting a GR Supra instead of the 86, which doesn't impress Kanata, unlike Okuyama's turbo proposal, which can bring the car's power to 300 hp. As they talk, a yellow GR Supra pulls up to the garage. The driver introduces himself as Sena Moroboshi of the Dream Project and wants to talk to Kanata.
