Ryosuke started MFG as a continuation to "Project D" and considers it to be the answer to his theory. As the organiser of the project, not much is known about him as he has asked past contacts to keep information about himself under wraps.
He is also working with his brother Keisuke on a driver development scheme called "Dream Project". As well as organiser MFG, Ryosuke is a surgeon at Gunma University Hospital.
During the summer break after round three, he surprises Keisuke and others by saying he is going to get married.
After the 6th day of the qualifications for the 5th round, Ryosuke appeared for the first time in the series to privately talk with Kanata about his father Ken Katagiri after he finished his qualifying run. During the conversation, Kanata asks for advice about his professional racing career, asking if it is fine to stay in MFG for one more season, but Ryosuke told Kanata that he can't stay in MFG for his career's sake and the only way to achieve it is doing his best in final race of the 5th round and return to the UK. After speaking with Kanata, Ryosuke returns to Fumihiro. During their conversation, Ryosuke tells Fumihiro that nobody should retain "the treasure that Fujiwara raised", and it's probably that new talents are to be discovered.
