Ryo (Ryosuke) Takahashi (タカハシ リョウ "Takahashi Ryou") is the organiser and founder of MFG. Not much is known about him to the public.
Biography[]
Ryo is a former racer in Gunma Prefecture, he led two street racing teams, the "Akagi RedSuns" and "Project D", while researching the "theory on ultimate speed on public roads".

Ryo started MFG as a continuation to "Project D" and considers it to be the answer to his theory. As the organiser of the project, not much is known about him as he has asked past contacts to keep information about himself under wraps.
He is also working with his brother Keisuke on a driver development scheme called "Dream Project". As well as organiser MFG, Ryo is a surgeon at Gunma University Hospital.
During the summer break after round three, he surprises Keisuke and others by saying he is going to get married.
In the Round 5 qualifications, Ryo appeared for the first time in the series to talk personally with Kanata Katagiri about his father Ken Katagiri after he finished his record time, during the conversation Kanata ask for a advice about his career, asking if is great to stay in MFG one more season, Ryo responded that he can't stay in the MFG for his career's sake and the only way to achieve it is doing his best in Atami Ghost and return to the UK. Then, when Kanata was about to realize who is it, he leaves and encounters Fumihiro, during their conversation Ryo tells Fumihiro that nobody shouldn't retain "the treasure that Fujiwara raised", and it's probably that new talents are out there to be discovered.

Trivia[]
- This is the same Ryosuke Takahashi who features in author's previous series about street racing, "Initial D".
- It is believed that the person he is marrying is Kaede Katagiri, but this is not clearly stated. If this is confirmed, then he and his brother Keisuke are, through his wedding, Kanata's uncles.
- Kanata calls Ryo "tensai" - a genius.
