Mai Sakurano (桜野 舞 "Sakurano Mai") is a racer who participates in MFG. She drives a #860 Toyota GR86 and is and is ranked 17th in Year 4.
Biography[]
Mai joins MFG for the 5th round of Year 4 and is accompanied by her father, who is also her mechanic and booth man.
We are first introduced to Mai during shakedowns on Hakone Turnpike, where she is waiting to meet Kanata. Upon meeting him, she confesses that she is his huge fan and ask to ride in the passenger seat of Kanata's car during his training runs, to which he agrees. During those runs, she closely observes his driving techniques, paying attention to how he is using special MFG tires.

Round 5[]
Mai qualifies on the 6th day of preliminaries for Round 5. During her run, she states that she is a worthy heir to Kanata's exceptional driving skill on street courses. She qualifies in 14th place.

- Mai is the youngest Divine Fifteen racer in MFG.
- Out of the 3 female drivers in MFG, Mai is the only one to be driving a domestic car, as Nozomi (who uses an Alfa Romeo 4C) and Emma (who uses an Aston Martin V8 Vantage) both drive foreign cars.
- Mai is the only major racer to be introduced after the opening round to not have some sort of association to Kanata.[3]
- Mai is also the only driver introduced after the opening round to drive a car with a Manual Transmission, as Kouki's Alpine A110s, Takamitsu's M4, Sena's GR Supra and Emma's Vantage all have Dual-Clutch Transmissions.
- Mai is the only Toyota driver in the series to not yet appear in Initial D The Arcade.
- Mai is currently the only driver who has been physically shown in the series to not have any form of coloured artwork.
