MF Ghost Manga & Anime Complete Guidebook Tuned by Best Car[]

『MF GHOST マンガ&アニメ完全ガイドブック Tuned by ベストカー』(“MF Gōsuto manga & anime kanzen gaidobukku Tuned by Besutokā”) is a guidebook of the series released by BestCar on 17th of February 2024. The book includes test drive reports of the sports cars that appear in the anime, as well as exclusive interviews with voice actors Yuma Uchida and Ayane Sakura, who play the main character Kanata and heroine Ren, respectively, as well as sound director Masafumi Mima and Manabu "MAX" Orido. [1]

Tomica[]

First MF Ghost licensed models from Tomica appeared in special editions of Volume 5 (Kanata's Toyota 86) and Volume 8 (Shun's GT-R). Later 5 more cars had been released within "Dream Tomica" and "Tomica Premium Unlimited" toy lines.

Modeler's[]

In 2023, Modeler's released four 1/43 scale models of Kanata's Toyota 86. Each model represents different spec of the car from Round 1 to Round 4 of MFG. Models come on stand and are housed in a box showing the course layouts for Rounds 1-4.

Kyosho[]

In 2019, Kyosho released a 1/27 scale RC model of Kanata's Toyota 86. It came in a bundle with a remote or sold separately.[2]

Clothing and Accessories[]

NA[]

In 2018, Japanese clothing brand NA (名) released a hoodie and a t-shirt with MF Ghost logo prints. The production was limited to only 86 copies per piece.[3]

AURORA[]

In 2021, AURORA introduced their MF Ghost accessories lineup, with included washable facemasks, neck gaiters and muffler towels. Designs are based on logos and illustrations from the manga.[4]

Casio[]

In 2022, Casio released an MF Ghost x Initial D variant of their Edifice watch, known as the ECB-2000MFG-1A. It is primarily MF Ghost themed, though it features the sound effects used in both series, as well as the Fujiwara Tofu Store decal.[5]

Angel Clover[]

In 2023, Japanese watch manufacturer Angel Clover released 3 special edition "Exventure Solar" watches part of their collaboration with MF Ghost. Each of the variants is designed after one of the characters, Kanata Katagiri, Shun Aiba and Kaito Akaba. The design features many small details based on characters' cars. Each variant was limited to 300 pieces. With Shun's and Kaito's watch, a metallic MFG sticker was included, and Kanata's came with an RDRS sticker. [6]

Yabushita[]

In 2023, Japanese eyewear manufacturer Yabushita released a pair of MF Ghost themed glasses. They feature a black and red design with a number 86 and MFG decals.[7]

Animax Store[]

In 2023, Asian cable TV network Animax launched their lineup of MF Ghost goods on their merchandise store. These include hoodies, t-shirts, an acrylic stand, plastic cup and vanity license plate.[8]

Avail[]

In 2024, Japanese clothing brand Avail launched their lineup of Initial D and MF Ghost themed clothing. These include hoodies, t-shirts and baseball caps. [9]

Aftermarket Car Parts[]

BRIDE[]

In 2023, BRIDE has released a special version on their ZETA IV REIMS bucket seat in collaboration with MF Ghost. It features a black and red design with a manga logo on the top of the seat.[10]

Keychains, badges and other[]

Bell House[]

In 2023, Japanese merchandise company Bell House created a lineup of goods based on designs of characters from the anime. They include badges, acrylic stands, keychains, pens and pen pouches and clear files.[11]

Caseplay[]

In 2024, mobile accessories shop Caseplay released a series of MF Ghost designs for their products, which include smartphone cases, earbuds case protectors, pop-sockets and etc.[12]

DMM Factory[]

In 2023, Japanese merchandise company DMM Factory released their lineup of MF Ghost goods with designs from the anime. They include a powerbank, wallet, keychains with chibi designs of Michael, Kanata and Kouki, and a shirt. [13]

Guranup Kuji[]

In 2022, Japanese merchandise company Guranup Kuji released their lineup of MF Ghost goods with designs from the manga. These include hoodies, t-shirts, calendars, smartphone holders and keychains.[14]

HC Gallery[]

In 2020, a company specialised in renting cars on racetracks and renting simracing rigs has launched a series of MF Ghost and Initial D themed badges. Initially, they were only available in gachapons at Daikanzan Sky Lounge (Hakone), but due to the lockdown in Japan they became available for purchase online. The designs feature unofficially colored illustrations from the manga.[15]

Zippo[]

In 2022, American lighter manufacturer Zippo introduced 2 MF Ghost designs of their iconic lighter. They were exclusive to Japan. [16]

New Item Creative[]

In 2024, Japanese merchandise company New Item Creative released their lineup of MF Ghost pins and acrylic stands distributed through gachapon machines.

Blu-ray Preorder Bonuses[]

With a purchase of MF Ghost Blu-ray BOX Sector 1 and 2, customers received different merchandise depending on what platform they made their purchase. Those items include acrylic stands, clear files, tote bags and display boxes.[17]

Collaborations[]

Shuichi Shigeno Original Art Exhibition[]

During 2023 and 2024, for Shuichi Shigeno's 40th anniversary as a mangaka, a art exhibit was around various venues in Japan. The event showcased art work from across Shigeno's career, most prominently Bari Bari Densetsu, Initial D, and MF Ghost. A variety of merchandise for all three series was sold at the event.[18]

Tokyo Auto Salon[]

Various merchandise is sold or given out during Tokyo Auto salon at the MF Ghost booth.

TAS 2018[]

In 2018, manga and special t-shirts were sold at the event.

TAS 2019[]

In 2019, clear files were sold at the event. A small guidebook and MFG Concept 2019 booklet were given out for free.

TAS 2020[]

In 2020, clear files and towels were sold at the event. With the purchase of the goods, buyers received postcards with MFG Angels 2020 or Kanata. MFG Concept 2020 booklets were given away.

TAS 2022/2023[]

During TAS 2022 and 2023, anime themed tote bags along with MFG Concept booklets were given out.

Clean View[]

In 2022, Clean View has released a special version of their glass cleaner in collaboration with MF Ghost.

Trivia[]

  • Earlier merch wrongfully names Beckenbauer "Mikhail" instead of "Michael" due to the Japanese spelling of his name (ミハイル - "mihairu").
