Kai Kogashiwa (小柏 カイ "Kogashiwa Kai") is a minor character in MF Ghost. He is an experienced racing driver who is currently working as a racing coach. In the opening round's final race, he joins as a guest to the livestream, commenting the race along with Yoji Tanaka.
Biography[]
Kai has been good friends with the top management of MFG for many years, though has been sworn to secrecy about details by Ryo Takahashi.
He was a go-kart driver in his youth, later having a brief stint as a street racer (originally on motorcycles, and then later cars) before becoming a professional racer and joining "Katagiri" Racing Team. He used to drive his father's Toyota MR2 and later his own Toyota MR-S.

- Kai wasn't physically shown in the manga, which makes his full appearance exclusive to the anime.
- His anime appearance shown him wearing the same outfit from his first appearance in Initial D Third Stage. (Albeit his white shirt switched to a white t-shirt and different colored sneakers)
