Sena’s Surprise (瀬名のサプライズ "Sena no sapuraizu") is the two-hundred-nineteen chapter of MF Ghost.
Summary[]
Sena begins his qualifying run. For commentator Tanaka, the Atami Ghost course is a reminiscent of the Monaco Grand Prix. Sena, who felt misery after his defeat by Kanata in the previous race, was still congratulated by Keisuke on his performance, which raised his confidence. He is determined to do his best in the final race.
For commentator Tanaka, Sena's performance is alike to Kanata's performance, with both racers finishing high on their debut.
Sena passes through the City Hall Bend, proceeding to the uphill section, where the road looks like a straight line, but is not the case. In this section, Sena notices that the G-forces to the left and right are continuous, and the road surface is bumpy, but he's not bothered by this, and thanks to Matsumoto's adjustments to his Supra's suspension, he can drive this section without any difficulties.
Meanwhile at the T.K. Mach Corporation headquarters in Yokohama, Keisuke and Kenta watch the run. Keisuke notes that after watching the techniques of Beckenbauer, Emma, and Kanata, Sena knows how to manage his tires better. He later informs Kenta that Fumihiro invited him to join the final race as guest commentator.
Entering the downhill section, Sena is 0.06 seconds behind the new record. For Sena, the downhill section is similar to a regular mountain pass road, and is convinced he is unbeatable against the other Divine Fifteen racers in this section. On the downhill, the Supra's pace has gradually improved and is getting closer to Sawatari's record.
The Supra clears the second geyser without difficulty. By the end of downhill section, the Supra was 0.066 seconds ahead of Sawatari's record, allowing Sena to take provisional pole.
