Kanata vs. Taylor (カナタ vs. テイラー "Kanata vs. Teirā") is the sixty-eighth chapter of MF Ghost.

Summary[]

Kanata and Taylor continue there battle for 8th. During which, Kanata notes that even in the rain, the rear-engine Porsche 911 Carrera has a lot of traction, and in-order to overtake it, he needs to make a move in the entry of the corner. The 86 dives into the outside of the corner, which shocks Ohtani as he wasn't expecting it. The 86 then traps the 911 in the inside of the corner, with Taylor not being able to go full-throttle on the next corner. The 86 then completes the overtake on the 911, with Ohtani being shocked that Kanata is able to corner so fast, even if he's going just a Mile-Per-Hour faster than his opponent, and Taylor is also shocked at Kanata's performance during a battle.

Back at the booth, Tanaka is shocked at Kanata's performance in the rainy weather. At the same time, Ikeda notices a pattern with Beckenbauer, Sawatari and Kanata. Tanaka then believes that what they share in common is that they all drive underpowered cars, however, Ikeda's actual reason is that all 3 drivers learned motorsports in Europe. With Beckenbauer being born and raised in Germany, Sawatari studying motorsports in France, and Kanata growing up in England, which is deemed as the birthplace of motorsports. As such, they've all known how to drive during tricky weathers. Especially Kanata, as not only is the UK known for having wild weathers, but also the Donnington Park circuit that RDRS uses is notorious for its age and poor drainage. However, Ayrton Senna was known for his excellent performance there many years ago, and notes that Kanata might have the most experience when it comes to racing in the rain, alongside Beckenbauer and Sawatari.

Back at the Ashinoko GT course, Nozomi is getting fed up that Kakeru is not catching up to her. Yamatani then lets her know that the suspension of Kakeru's Exige was not being set up for the wet weather. As such, Nozomi promises Yamatani to overtake the M6 in-front of her without Kakeru's help, with Kakeru getting mad because she beat him in qualifying. The 2 of them begin to squabble as Yamatani braces himself.
