Shirasu-don (シラスドン "Shirasudon") is the sixty-second chapter of MF Ghost.
Summary[]
Michael Beckenbauer finishes up his qualifying run of the Ashinoko GT course, finish on-pole by a whole second over Kouki Sawatari. Meanwhile at Kamakura, Kanata is confused on how exactly the word "Yabai" is used, with Ren saying that it can mean things good or bad (such as listening to a good song or getting a bad score in a test), which only confused Kanata more. The 2 of them then wish at a nearby shrine, and Kanata asks Ren what she wished for, with Ren not answering until Kanata tells his first, but Kanata won't tell her it. Ren then tries hitting him in the hipbone, but it causes her to secure some minor pain.
After stopping by at the Enoshima Station, Kanata tells Ren that he'll get his first paycheck soon, and we would like to take Ren and her family out for dinner to repay them. Ren then wonders why as Kanata has been working hard for it, so she wonders why he can't use it for himself. Kanata then says that it's something that he decided a long time ago, and wants Ren to pick them a good restaurant for them, specifically one that they've went to for a while. Ren says that it should be easy, with Kanata thanking her, but asking her to keep it a secret from them.
The 2 of them stop by a Shirasu-don restaurant, with Kanata being surprised at the food, and wonders how exactly does he eat it. Ren then asks him to try eating the Shirasu with some rice, with Kanata being surprised on how good it tastes. Kanata then ask Ren what exactly is "Shirasu", with Ren saying that it's just tiny fishes. Kanata gets confused whether or not the fish are babies, or just small fish, with the restaurant owner saying that Shirasu is just a term for immature whitefish with no body pigment, which mostly includes Sardines, but may also include the fry of herring or eels. As Kanata and Ren thank the restaurant owner, but he's surprised that Kanata Katagiri, MFG's newest star came to his restaurant.
Kanata and Ren soon leave the restaurant, with the owner giving him good luck at the race at Ashinoko GT, as he'll be rooting for him during the race. Kanata is surprised that someone noticed him, but Ren notes that he's got 30 million people worldwide who knows who he is, and gives the idea of him wearing sunglasses when he's out and about, with Kanata saying that idea isn't cool at all.
At the same time, the qualifying order for the Ashinoko GT race was revealed.
