Genius Awakened (天才覚醒 "Tensai kakusei") is the fifty-second chapter of MF Ghost.
Summary[]
Kouki Sawatari begins his qualifying for the Ashinoko GT race. At the same time, Ogata is shocked that Spiral Zero has a 3D Wheel Alignment tester, something that he could only dream of having at his garage, with Okayama saying that a good alignment is perfect for getting 100% out of your suspension. Ogata then says that Kanata has been loving the new modifications to the 86, with Okuyama being pleased that he got to support Takumi Fujiwara's pupil.
Back at Ashinoko, Kouki Sawatari enters section 2 with the fastest split time so far, taking the record for the fastest time in Sector 1. A group of spectators watching the race are shocked at how fast Sawatari is racing at, especially since he missed the opening round of the season, and one of the spectators saying that he's finally awakened. The A110 rapidly accelerates through the course at a record braking pace, with Tanaka noting that he might see an unpredicted super-lap of the course. Aiba and Akimoto are shocked at Sawatari's performance, with Aiba saying that Sawatari will break the course record. The A110 then goes onto the relay straight, still at full throttle and begins its final stretch of the course uphill. Kouki Sawatari finishes his run, setting the fastest time on the Ashinoko GT course to date, with Fumihiro noting that this year is full of suprises, and it'll make MFG more exciting.
Shun Aiba then starts his qualifying run, with his booth representative telling him to calm down as he's making too many mistakes, Aiba however says that he cannot calm down after sawing Sawatari's record-breaking lap of the course, overwhelming himself with adrenaline. Sadly, Aiba's errors caused him to fall down to provisional 5th place.
After the qualifiers are done for the day, Sawatari phones Sana, telling her that he'll go on a date with her in Shibuya later on.
