Qualifier Day 1 (予選1日目 "Yosen 1-nichi-me") is the fiftieth chapter of MF Ghost.

Summary[]

The A110 continues its decent down the Hakone Turnpike , with Sawatari remembering his past encounters with Kanata in the Euro FE-3 series when he was studying in France. Sawatari didn't have the money to keep up with Kanata's pace back then, but he's hoping to pick up where they left off in Paul Richard and Hockenheim.

Later on in the day, Kanata and Ogata stop by a Denny's to get a bite to eat, with MFG sending out a press release for Ashinoko GT's qualifying scheduled. Ogata tells Kanata that he will be qualifying on Day 6, with Ogata then explaining that the qualifying order is determined by your ranking, so the higher you finish, the more later your day is for qualifying. Ogata then notes that it loops back around, so because of this, Kanata will be qualifying on the same day as Fujin Ishigami, who finished the last race in 2nd. Ogata then notes that the later days allows drivers to set more accurate benchmarks for the qualifiers, with Kanata noting that he needs to be in top condition for the qualifiers. Ogata then reminds Kanata that they need to bring the 86 back to Spiral Zero for the final preperations.

The Ashinoko GT Qualifiers soon begin, with Moe Hamazaki on duty for Day 1. First up is Daigo Oishi, who finished the previous round in 7th. Daigo notes that qualifiying on Day 1 is the hardest, as you have to go on the attack, but Daigo trusts in the power of his Huracán's V10.

At the same time, Kanata is serving people at his job at the Village Cafe, with his boss asking how he's able to right in Japanese so good, with Kanata answering that he mainly uses other's slips as a guide, which intrigues his boss. Kanata's boss also notes that the cafe is getting a lot more customers, especially female customers.

Meanwhile, back at the Ashinoko GT course, Kazuhiro Maezono begins his qualifying lap, returning back to the NSX now that the computer settings are finally complete. Maezono notes that him and his team have been waiting 2 years for this moment to happen.
