I Got a Job (バイト始めました "Baito hajimemashita") is the fourty-seventh chapter of MF Ghost.
Summary[]
Ren and Wakana begin there journey through Kamakura to try to find the building that's in the background of Kanata's photograph, with Ren wondering if they'll bump into him as well. After stopping by a nearby shrine, they continue through Kamakura and stop by a nearby cafe. However, Ren was not expecting to meet Kanata, who's working at the cafe as a part-time waiter. After Kanata takes there order, Wakana is star-struck on Kanata, as Ren tries to snap her back to reality.
Later on, after his shift is over, Ren asks Kanata why he needs a part-time job, as his 9th place finish in the previous MFG race earned him enough money to equal that of a good company's yearly salary. Kanata then says that he's giving half of his prize money to Ogata, as he's the one who owns the 86, and that he doesn't race to own money. Kanata then says that he wants to keep a normal life and work every weekday. Kanata then recalls a piece of advice from his mother, saying that the best life you can have is an average one, but then realises that saying that made him sounds like a "Momma's boy", in-which Ren jokes about with him. Kanata then says to Ren that Ogata said that she was really cute, but Ren wonders if she looks cute to Kanata's eyes. The 2 of them later spot a group of seagulls flying above the Shonan coast.
