A Vital Flaw (重大な欠点 "Jūdaina ketten") is the Fourtieth chapter of MF Ghost.
Summary[]
Kanata and Taylor continue battling down the Odawara Pikes Peak's Death Zone, with Taylor gradually slowing down as he does not want to risk his life in his duel against Kanata. The 86 continues down the course, with Kanata breaking into the single digits in his first race. Tanaka and Kogashiwa are shocked at Kanata's performance, as he's been able to make up so much ground in the foggy conditions. Meanwhile at T.K. Mach Corporation, Keisuke Takahashi and Kenta Nakamura are watching the race live, with Keisuke asking Kenta if he can see a flaw in Kanata's driving. However, Kenta can't see anything obvious apart from the fact that Kanata's driving style is similar to Takumi Fujiwara's. Kenta then asks if he gets the correct answer, he might be able to return to the parts development side of the business, however, Keisuke says that the main financial income from the business now comes from Real Estate, which Kenta is really good at.
Back at the course, the 86 makes it around the Ohiradai Hairpin. Kanata then tells Ogata that there's no need to continue the countdown, as the course will begin to flatten and he's been wearing out my tires too much, so he'll continue to maintain his position through the remainder of the race. Meanwhile, a few bystanders are watching the race, with one of them talking about the Demo Runs on the MFG Website. Especially due to the fact that the demo run's times were never beaten until Michael Beckenbauer's pole at last year's finale race at Atami Ghost. The bystanders then talk about the demo run's driver being an amazing road racer, who drove an old car with a 5-speed manual transmission. The only other things they recall from the Demo Run's car is that it was yellow and had the number "Seven" as a part of its name.
