Incident in Car #9 (9号車の異変 "9 Gōsha no ihen") is the thirty-first chapter of MF Ghost.
Summary[]
Fujin Ishigami's booth representative is instructing him to try to get ahead of Michael Beckenbauer's Cayman before the end of Sector 1, with Ishigami telling him that he's trying his best. Ishigami then remarks that his powerful 911 GT3 might not be enough to catch up to the Cayman, as he doesn't see a weakness in Beckenbauer's driving. a bit further behind, Yudai Sakamoto's R8 is beginning to catch up to Shun Aiba's GT-R, with Shun noting that he needs some luck from his beloved Angel No.7.
More further behind, the 86 begins catching up to Kakeru's Exige and Nozomi's 4C, with Ogata remarking that he fears that he would run out of grip before the end of the race, as he used 80% of his tire's tread during the Odawara Qualifiers. Kanata then replies to Ogata that he learned about tire management at the Racing Academy, and that he put in a lot of time to practicing using all of his tire's grip throughout the full race. Kanata then remarks that he'll floor it when he's at the last downhill section, and will finish in a higher position that he is right now, something that Ogata gets scared of.
At the front of the pack, Beckenbauer's Cayman is keeping its lead over Ishigami's 911 GT3 as they enter Section 2, with the GT-R and R8 following behind. Further behind, Kaito Akaba begins making a move on the BMW M6 driven by Takuya Yanagida.
