The Carrera Loses (カレラの敗北 "Karera no haiboku") is the twenty-sixth chapter of MF Ghost.
Summary[]
Ishigami and Beckenbauer's battle continues down through Section 3 of the Odawara Pikes Peak. Beckenbauer insults Ishigami for not flooring it on the next straight, saying that in Europe, even a 10-year-old would've floored it. Beckenbauer then uses the rear end of his Porsche Cayman to hit into the back end of Ishigami's 911 GT3, thus causing its line to be disrupted which allows Beckenbauer to gain the lead of the race. Beckenbauer says that it isn't the GT3 that lost, but Ishigami himself. Kai then explains Beckenbauer's move to Tanaka, and also says that drivers like Beckenbauer who grew up with sim-racers aren't shy about making contact.
Back at the MFG Angel board, Kyoko is asked to change the board this time. Kyoko then answers Uehara's question by saying that she doesn't have one as she is not into younger guys. Uehara then says that there aren't too many drivers older then her, which causes Kyoko to say that she's 24 years old. Uehara then says that she's been saying that her profile said she was 24 for the past few years, which causes Kyoko be flustered with anger.
Back at the race, the Exige, the 4C and the 86 exit out of the Death Zone. Kanata then makes a move on Nozomi at the Ōhiradai hairpin, thus advancing into 12th place. Kai then answers Tanaka's question that Kanata used the Lateral Gs to decelerate in-time for the hairpin, and managed to correct himself despite entering the corner a bit too fast. Tanaka then wonders if we're about to see Kanata go on the offensive.
