A Career Revealed (明かされる経歴 "Akasa reru keireki") is the twenty-fourth chapter of MF Ghost.
Summary[]
The remaining 14 drivers all enter the Death Zone one by one. First up is the Ferrari and Lamborghini running nose-to-tail with one another, and then it cuts to the Exige, the 4C and the 86 in a tandem. Tanaka asks Kai how Kanata's driving style is to him, with Kai answering that he's having trouble nailing it down, but notes that he's tackling it like no one else.
Tanaka then cuts to an explanation of Kanata's backstory. He says that Kanata Katagiri's real last name is Kanata Rivington, with the name "Katagiri" coming from his Japanese father. Kanata is currently affiliated with the famous Royal Donington Park Racing School (RDRS) in Cambridge. Kanata began racing go karts at the age of 4, then began driving competively at age 7, winning 6 noted British racing series titles in 2 years. At age 10, he entered his first Formula 4 race and won his first event 2 years later. During the explanation, Ogata is shocked and thought that Shun was exaggerating his statement back in the qualifiers. Tanaka also explains that Kanata got the highest score in his "final exam", which made him the highest scoring student at the academy. Kanata had a knack for producing fast times on both the race track and in the simulators, and he also received a lot of offers before, but declined them, due to his mother's degrading health.
Back at the Odawara Pikes Peak, the trio of Kakeru, Nozomi and Kanata continue on through the death-zone, with Kakeru noticing that Kanata's playing it safe in the death zone, compared to his qualifying run. Kakeru then thinks Kanata's convserving the remaining grip of his tires, believing that he may have a lot of experience under his belt. During this, Tanaka reveals he made a shocking discovery, and is about to reveal it.
