Déjà vu (デジャヴー "Dejavū") is the eleventh chapter of MF Ghost.

Summary[]

Kanata continues down the Odawara Pikes Peak's Death Zone, with him eyeing up the chance to score points on his first round. Ogata is shocked that he'd never imagine it happening. Ogata then explains that even being awarded a tenth of a point comes with big perks, as it guarantees you free tires, an assistant's booth, and Shun also explains that your car is given a golden border around its number. Ogata then hopes that Kanata doesn't push himself too far, and to come back safe, even if he wrecks the 86.

The 86 dives straight through the Miyanoshita intersection with the poor visibility, as Kanata's place goes up to 27th, overtaking 8 cars within the Death Zone itself, the 86 then rises to 25th as it exists out of the Death Zone. Back at the MFG Headquarters, Fumihiro notes that the main feed isn't showing anything over than #86, and worries that the other drivers would complain about it, but the viewers would complain if they switch to a different driver.

The 86 drifts around the Ōhiradai Hairpin in a stellar four-wheel-drift, with Fumihiro being reminded of Takumi Fujiwara's "Panda Trueno". The 86 exits the corner in 24th, with Ogata telling Kanata that there's only 9 cars ahead of him, in-which Kanata continues his downhill assault. Tanaka then says that he wants to see Kanata compete in the final race, along with the other 30 million MFG viewers worldwide.
