The Ghost-Town Death Zone (ゴーストタウンの死神 "Gōsutotaun no shinigami") is the tenth chapter of MF Ghost.
Summary[]
Ren notices that Tanaka is more tense than usual during Kanata's run, and notes that Kanata didn't say anything about competing in MFG, and only stated that he came to find his father. One of the viewers notices her more angry expression, and loves it.
Back at the Odawara Pikes Peak course, the drone of the driver in the #270 Honda S2000 begins flashing its warning lights, as the driver pulls over to the left, the 86 shoots past it. the S2000's driver is shocked since the 86 started a whole minute behind. Soon, the camera feed switches over to the old Kowakien area, which has been shrouded in a thick fog after Mount Fuji's eruption. The 86 easily enters the Death Zone, with Ogata noting that the fog seems to be thicker than normal. Shun then explains that the fog never clears out, and that even veteran drivers are cautious in that area.
As Kanata continues his run through the Death Zone, Shun starts to believe in Kanata's ability to memorise the course, as he knows the distance to the next turn without even seeing it. However, as a public road has features such as potholes and gaps, it isn't easy going off a 2D map, then it clicks into his mind that he memorised the demo run on the official site.
As Kanata continues his voyage downhill, Ogata starts to get worried due to Kanata's incredible speeds, as Kanata enters 31st, Ogata relays to Kanata that he only has 16 cars ahead of him.
